311 … count them … 311 pictures from my trip to Munich. And that doesn’t count any of Suzan’s pictures (gasp). I will caption them in due time (again, 311 pictures).

I’m off to Karate College tomorrow. Travel stories may be delayed due to sore muscles, social interaction with my martial arts friends and a lack of internet access.

Note: one of the pics in the “Strange Signs” isn’t safe for work. You have been warned.

I have hundreds of photos and lots of laundry to process … but a few words from our return …

  1. The international arrivals process at Atlanta Airport is getting embarrassing. Seriously, the convenience of having at airport that big in my backyard is often outweighed by the stupidity of the custom/luggage/security process. And don’t tell me to “write my congressman” because he doesn’t determine where lines go in the customs area.
  2. Map lights can use a lot of current over a week … so we need a jump start in the parking lot. Pre-Flight Parking staff kicks ass yet again.
  3. I like air conditioning. Germany still isn’t sure what it is.
  4. Trips with my wife make me happy, even if the process of travel is irritating.
  5. 15 year old scotch was on sale in Munich Airport duty-free :) I will have a good evening with the spouse.

Trip reviews will be written this week in between karate classes, work, photo processing and preparing for Karate College.

I’ve been in Munich, Germany for less than 24 hours and have had two Lynyrd Skynyrd related sightings.

No, I’m not making this up.

Welcome to Gate T04 at Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Multi-Named International Long Security Line Recently Remodeled Delta Check-In Airport.

Suzan and I are here waiting to board a flight to Munich, Germany. This is my second trip this year, and I have the chance to take my wife again (yay).

While I run a seminar and visit customers, my spouse gets to roam the rainy streets of Munich, take lots of pictures and tell her travel stories to me over dinner. I will get some tourist time with Suzan when I’m not in marketing mode.

I know my blog lacked stories from my last trip. I’ll try to fix that on this jaunt through Germany.

First I go on the road trip, now it’s my wife’s turn. She & a friend are making a quick trip to New Orleans. Her goal is to snap lots’o'photos and be back by Tuesday. Meanwhile I take care of the animals and try to cross items off of my sabbatical chore list. Continue reading »

Here’s a few neat nature images I captured the past few days …

On a flight from Houston to Atlanta, there was beautiful intercloud lightning off to the left of the aircraft. I got it on video. The video may look like it’s nothing but a black screen at first, but then you can see the entire cloud light up. Yes, the flight was bumpy as we swerved around these little pockets of nature.

Leaving work last night, I saw a rainbow in the parking lot. Nice end to a wacky day.
