Bank failures, gas crisis, bad TV … it’s just so easy to laugh at the world right now. In case you’re not following me on Twitter, here’s what’s been in my comedic landscape before 10:30am today:
Keep in mind it’s only 10:30am, and I will not suspend my blogging due to any financial crisis. It’s going to be an interesting Friday.
I could rant about the “bailout” being pitched by the Federal Government, or I could just link to an article by this Dr. Ron Paul guy …
Unfortunately, the government’s preferred solution to the crisis is the very thing that got us into this mess in the first place: government intervention.

Reason I’m a Libertarian #4,895 … morons like this:
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/B/BIDEN_TAXES?SITE=AP
Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Thursday that paying more in taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans.
Yes Joe, I’m sure that’s what the British said about the stamp tax just before all those “patriots” dumped the tea into Boston Harbor. As someone who would like to be wealthy in his lifetime, I think you might want to stop talking now.
FYI: the standard definition for “wealthy” in terms of IRS tax rates is an individual making over $200,000 per year. He’s not talking about Bill Gates being patriotic, he’s talking about tax increases that could hit a lot of small business owners.
The jackass icon used by your party has never been more appropriate.
Somehow I managed to co-host two podcasts at Dragon*Con … there’s our wonderful live WhatTheCast panel and the secret recording of Wingin’ It 3D from Brad’s hotel room. One has profanity and booze, one does not: choose wisely.
Seven years ago I was sitting in a hotel room in Japan, watching the world change.
I am over 7,000 miles from my wife. I am over 7,000 miles from my home and everything I know as daily life. Every airport in the United States has been closed.
This is, by far, the most beautiful commentary on government I have ever read.

I don’t want anyone as president who promises to take care of me. I may be stupid, but I want a chance to try to be a grown-up and take care of my family. Freedom means the freedom to be stupid, and that’s what I want. I don’t want anyone to feel my pain or tell me to ask what we can do for our country, or give us all money and take care of us.
This explains my libertarian ideals beautiful and clearly. I don’t know if I can add anything to Penn Jillette’s thoughts except “thank you.”
