Let’s just cut the chase: I was an asshole at work Tuesday. It really doesn’t matter what started it or what pre-existing conditions contributed to my frustration … I overreacted.
Another day, another dead hard drive. My Western Digital 200GB drive died yesterday. Bad sectors & CRC errors started popping up Sunday night. More »
Life has been on shuffle since I got back from Germany … not “totally random with no user interface” as in the iPod Shuffle context, but the “moving things around & changing” context.
Work: Looks like I will go back into technical marketing from engineering management. This is a mutual decision, and was helped by the trip to Germany … remembering that I actually enjoy many of the aspects of that job, and the company thinks I’m good at it. We’re haggling over small points of the job description right now (no more project management for Brian, thank you very much).
Hobbies: Yeah, that’s a long list …
Dragon*ConTV feels like a neglected child right now, but I have to remember how early we started last year (not typical to start taping in February). The staff meeting coming up on Saturday will kick my rear into gear.
Podcasting … well, I got sucked into that world. I’m now producing WhatTheCast? with Crispy, Stephen & Patrick on a semi-bi-weekly basis. It’s the geek’s look on life in audio form. We’ll see how this goes as the months roll on.
Sabbatical: Thanks to almost eleven years at the same company, I get my sabbatical in May. One month away from work should be interesting, but I know I will stay busy.
Food: Trying to cook more food at home. This morning was spent turning eggs into egg salad. We’re also turning eggs into pasta, and anything that makes eggs into something that isn’t an egg anymore. Suzan’s chickens are prolific, and eggs are now the leading export at GeekFarm 2.0.
Back in country, glad to be home … but Suzan and I had a great time. I did have to work most of the time, but I did find occasion to see Nuremberg with my spouse. I will post stories soon.
Suzan and I made it to Germany, all is well. Will post more when I get a power adapter for my laptop computer
In our next installment of “Brian Talks Business”, our compares the production of “cruelty-free food products” to questionable management in the business world.
Just when I think I’m out, they pull me back in … time to pack for an international business trip, which requires a trip to the grocery store.
