I got my haircut today.
Actually, that’s not entirely correct. According to the woman clad in black at the “salon”, I received a hair style. Yes, “salon”, a place in a mall with a vaguely German sounding name.
Here’s the bad cellphone picture.
It is soon to be the end of an era … Suzan and I cleaned the last of the items out of the old house today. Ceiling fans, lighting fixtures, several interior doors, one gas stove and a furnace … the last remnants of a past life now live in the corner of my basement.
The old house is, well, a house. Not a great house, not well built and soon destined for a dumpster. It has memories, great memories that have been carried into our new home. Most of the friends Suzan and I made living in that house have remained, which to me is more important … but it was weird to participate in the disassembly of my past.
I have the important things … the land, the friends, the memories, the woman who shared the house with me. Anybody who wants the rest might be able to have it, if the price is right
When you’re home sick on a Monday, the last thing you want to be doing is chasing horses … but, as you may have guessed, that’s what I did at 5:00pm today.
