Right, so I’m back from Karate College 2006 … catching up on sleep, sorting through photos and amazed at how well I survived the weekend.

One of the best reasons not to come to work I have ever heard … there’s a snake in the employee’s car & he can’t get it out.

This Penn Jillette radio segment is jusn damn amazing …

http://penn.freefm.com/episode_download.php?contentType=36&contentId=70768
(downloads a MP3 of the show, right click to save as a file)

They gave Penn of Penn & Teller a radio show earlier this year, and it’s fantastic. Last week he had Patrick Moore, founder of Greenpeace, on for the entire show. Suzan and I listened to the podcast last night as Mr. Moore explained why he left Greenpeace.

In short: his organization got hijacked by liberal nuts that ignore science in the name of pushing their social agenda. It’s a great discussion of politics, nuclear power, the confusion over global warming and how scientists often loose the argument to movie stars & guitar players because they’re not great communicators.

It’s everything I’ve been thinking about the environmental movement the past few years … that it’s impossible to have a proper adiscussion about what’s wrong & how to fix it when nobody wants to talk about the real problem (that’s my damn engineering side talking again).

Take 40 minutes and listen to the show, no matter what you think about environmental policy. It’s an eye opener.

For a funny conversation with a friend on what the random Chinese characters on my theme mean, check out this entry from Asai. It looks like my crop of the original picture just left me with the characters for “no time”, which is a great way to describe my life the past two weeks.

I’d tell you more about it, but I don’t have the time right now … perhaps later :)
