I had a small moment of introspection while on vacation this week. It came from my cell phone. Well, actually, it came to my cell phone.

We got in last night and have wisely taken today off to decompress … it’s hard going from vacation to work without some sort of “buffer”.

I’m sitting on the bed, laptop by my side, killing a little time before I sleep. Sooz is packing, trying to figure out what shirts go best with neon lights …

Yes, we’re heading to Vegas for my birthday/mini-vacation. Flight leaves 9:00am Saturday. Four days of minimal plans will occur. Sooz is required to take lots of pictures as proof.

Yes, it’s shorts season! It was 80 degrees on Sunday, and we broke out the shorts for a day of farm chores.

Since spring is almost here, it about time for me to increment the age counter. Sooz & I will be in Vegas for my birthday. It’s odd celebrating aging in a city where I’m older than most of the hotels, thanks to all of the renovations … but I think we’ll manage.

Some friends have complained that I am hard to shop for, so I gave in and created a short Amazon.com wish list. I don’t like the feeling that I’m forcing friends to buy crap for me due to some semi-random calendar date … but Amy threatened to hit me on the head with something heavy if I didn’t (such a good pal, she is).
