We the jury …
Yeah, got picked for jury duty. I report Wednesday to sit on a DUI case. The case has six separate counts, so I plan to take notes.
One woman did get dismissed because she said she couldn’t be impartial … she has strong opinions and a lot of family in law enforcement. The 35 ahead of her seemed to think they should have used her statement, because she got dismissed immediately by the defense attourney. The Assistant DA seemed to like her for some reason.
After that I remembered the line I joke about using to get out of jury duty …
There are only two types of people I hate … prejudiced people and the Irish
(joking … onky joking … I have no desire to be held in contempt of court).

Lucky you. About the only good thing I can say about this slew of being out of town is that it’s gotten me out of my own jury duty summons.
My profound sympathies. I had to be a juror back in May on a Workman’s Comp case. *hugs*
I already deferred this once due to company travel, so I pretty much need to do it this time (they don’t like it when you keep putting jury duty off).
I’m not dreading it yet. It might be interesting to see how the process really works. Already I can tell it’s not as glamarous as Law & Order or CSI.
Are you sure they’ll let you take notes? Some places won’t; it’s supposed to ensure you won’t be distracted w/ the writing that you miss something important, I guess. Personally, I think it’s dumb to make a bunch of people depend solely on memory for something this important, but no one asked me.
Good luck, stay awake, and remember, this is part of the American Ideal.
