Cold … mostly gone. Too bad lunch yesterday tried to kill me. I skipped karate & drove home praying I didn’t throw up in the car. Fortunately no car interiors were harmed in the processing of that “special burrito” … I just needed some sleep & clear sparkling fluids.
I’d like the next few days to go malady-free. Summon whatever deity you choose to help me out with that wish.
Still recovering from the post-con cold. Suzan and I have spent the weekend sniffling, sleeping in & living on cold meds. I have so much work to do, but I really want to lie around and be a bum.
Yes, Suzan and I survived Dragon*Con. Preparing for it was one of the many reasons I haven’t posted here in a while.
Dragon*ConTV was, again, a lot of fun. It went over well this year … perhaps a little too well, since several of the folks on screen got asked to have their picture taken by fans (myself included). We’re still a bit weirded out by that, but in a good way.
It was my first year as videography director at Dragon*Con, and I definitely wasn’t 100% prepared for it (of course, I wasn’t made a director till the last meeting, so it was a bit of short notice). I had very few real problems thanks to my staff & folks on TechOps that pitched in when I needed a hand. In return, I ended up helping herd 200+ people into the main Trek & Serenity panels (I wanted to see them anyway, so why not help out why I was there).
Suzan and I get to relive con for the next few months as we work on the Dragon*Con 2005 DVD set … one of the first jobs we’re taking on in my wife’s new home-based business. I think I have too many videos to go through.
Of course, work exploded while I was away. I really need more sleep to handle the transition from con to reality.
