… yeah, I fixed her computer. Specifically, I carted her old computer to the basement & set up her new notebook. The last straw on her last computer, still using Win95, was when the ‘A’ key stopped working (never mind the rampant crashing & sluggish performance). Rather than start communication execlusively in some vowel-less Eastern European language, the computer was retired.
Since my mother is now retired & bouncing about the country, a laptop is a much better way to go. Aside from my grandfather’s occasional visits to my webpage, I now have to reolve the mental image of my mother reading blogs via 802.11g in some Pacific Northwest coffeehouse.
Somewhere, the man who sold my father a Commodore64 is giggling … look what difference one birthday present can make.
