In other news …
The new Batman film is good, the grass is shorter, and the Japanese seem surprised people want to watch porn on handheld devices.
Mary was in town from Alabama this weekend to work on her CD & hang out with friends (that would be me & Suzan). I finished my drum tracks on Friday (yay) so we had the weekend to do … well, nothing much, really. We grilled steaks, watched old Muppet Show episodes, talked & saw Batman Begins.
As a point of personal curiosity, who takes a 7 year old child to PG-13 movie? Really? The folks behind us brought a fairly chatty kid who was not ready for the level of violence & sheer scary that this movie could induce on a young child. She was quiet for a bit, then I think they had to take her out of the theater. Anybody reading reviews should have known this wasn’t the “Holy Franchise, Batman” movie we’ve bene subjected to in the past.
Moving on …
Between Sunday’s yard chores, napping & video editing I found this story about the PSP. Turns out that fancy new portable game/movie machine all the kids wanna buy is also the one a bunch of older folks want to use for porn movies … and Sony isn’t happy.
Here’s a question … why is Sony surprised?
I’ve been to Japan, and I saw this coming. Business men in Japan read porn magazines on the train … when they’re commuting to work … and they don’t try to hide it (why bother, they bought it at the same news rack where they buy the Asia Wall Street Journal). Cell phones in Japan have to make a loud noise when taking a pitcure so peeping toms can’t get away with using their phone for clandestine perversity.
Dear Sony: This isn’t news, it’s what were all expecting.
Annnnnnnyway, back to work for me.

When I saw Starship Troopers in the theater many years ago, quite a few idiots had small children with them. For the most part, I think the children dealt with the gore better than I did. I still think the parents should have just lost custody at the door.
Small Soldiers was more disturbing, in some ways – who could forget the evil, (overtly) torturous Barbies? That was rated PG-13, but definitely marketed as a kids movie.
We didn’t take Eli to see Batman Begins, mainly because he really wanted to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
We saw it this weekend, too, at Phipps. Two children started crying and had to be taken out of the theater. Movie ratings exist for a reason, people…jeez.
