The electronics, they hate me
Well, not been a good few days for Brian’s electronics …
My rock-solid video editing computer … dead. The capacitors on the motherboard are leaking, which I found while upgrading it to an Athlon XP 3000+ and a DVD-DL burner. Fortunately I also ordered the parts to build a second machine from the “upgrade scraps” … now that machine was working till last night, when Windows dumped while installing the virus scanner bundled with the motherboard (grrrrrrr).
Everything else is good. DCTV video taping the past two weeekends has been wonderful. There’s funny stuff I need to edit for this year’s Dragon*Con, and all the folks who spend their free time in front of my cameras make it a fun project.
Of course, two weekends making video means there’s yardwork to be done, a mower to be repaired, and house cleaning to erase the traces of a house full of friends … and I need sleep.

Gah. I’d heard of capacitor leakage problems, but wouldn’t have expected it from your computer.
