Sunday was the day our latest ailments came to visit. Suzan has bronchitis, probably from all of the snot generated by her allergies … so she’s down with a cough that sounds like it belongs to a RJ Reynolds class-action lawsuit witness. My reaction to the trees having sex caused head congestion & sniffles … I’m having to take steroids to keep my glands from swelling to the size of citrus fruit.
All of a sudden I feel this urge to hit clean-up for the New York Yankees … or run for governor of a west-coast state … anyway, we should be better by the weekend.
Yes, another April 15th, another chance to get confused about why the IRS gets to smack me around.
I will say it again … all I want from my government is tax reform & Social Security reform. For the subject of tax reform, I refer you to FairTax.org and their one page summary for those in a hurry on the way to the post office.
And for those of you who are getting a “refund”, congratulations on providing an interest-free loan to the government for the past year. If you owe the IRS money today, ask yourself if they’ll show you the same love when you don’t have the cash …
About 24 hours till my next software demo, this time at a customer site instead of a trade show … of course, it’s the preview of my next trade show demo … and of course it’s not as complete as it was promised … sigh.
Don’t get me wrong, the programmers on this team are sharp and have pulled off some minor miracles. However, it’s a lot of work in a short amount of time, and it’s all new technology that doesn’t have a lot of stable software for validation.
So it might work … it might not … and I am going in unarmed & alone to show it to a large number of people I’ve never met before …
This wouldn’t annoy me so much if I had a direct flight. Until recently, I had no idea Memphis was onthe way from Atlanta to Austin. It’s amazing the things you learn booking low-cost airfares.
Ah, April 1st was no joke … took a three day weekend since Amy, Mary & Wes came to town for a concert. A good time was had by all. Suzan and I got to relax & hang out with friends.
Of course, I am at work now. Let’s see how long it takes the effects of those three days to get wiped out by cubicle-based stupidity.
