Mandatory Christmas Post
According to Section 74.5 sub-paragraph 3 of “The Weblogger’s Code of Conduct (unabridged edition)”, I must make at least one holiday-related post (no links to FARK allowed, pictures are optional, consult your local ordinances for details).
Suzan’s parents came down last night, bearing all manner of wrapped boxes & food stuffs. Today’s dinner (yes, moist & tasty turkey again … damn you Alton Brown) came after a morning session where we converted nicely wrapped boxes into a messy pile of torn paper.
Me … a shiny new snare drum (Pearl, maple shell, nice heads) and a book on no-budget video production (damn, blew my entire budget on the book!). Suzan … a Canon Digital Rebel & new lens (she’s still reading the manual, will be for days). Assorted household goods flowed from her parents, and we delighted in the Cuisinart coffee maker my brother gave us. We got a few socks, some nice cards, and heaped many interesting items on our family.
The cats are napping, full of tuna. The in-laws are sorting through their holiday stash. I am full of food, happy that a ten pound turkey will not produce the mountain of leftovers that I had to freeze from Thanksgiving’s monster bird.
Next week we shift from family to friends. I’ve already seen Heather & Andy this month, and have the chance to see other distant friends when we head to Huntsville for New Year’s Eve … that will be a good way to end a great year.
