Suzan and I woke up to this news … Chemical Fire Forces Evacuations in Georgia.

We’re not anywhere near the fire, but Suzan’s office is in the evacuation area. Since she works for the Health Department, she’s spent the day working one of the evacuation shelters. No telling when she’ll actually head home … being a smart woman, she grabbed a change of clothes & a toothbrush before leaving the house.

Combined with moving stress, her job stress, my job stress … one more thing to make life interesting.

But, on a happier note, we had a great weekend. Friends came to the house, DCTV video got put to tape, much food was made in the kitchen … good times indeed.

Geez, anymore talk of money and I could probably be a banker. My drive to work this morning involved four cell phone calls … bankers, finance officers, lawyers. I had to pull over, jot down notes, get new phone numbers, and gather up vital information I require before tomorrow’s closing.

Yep … tomorrow is the day … Suzan and I make it official and close the loan. We go from simple interest payments to thirty years or mortgage bliss. Hope it goes better than the first time.

So Suzan and I have a 25 cubic foot freezer … that means we need to buy food. Fortunately, our local butcher is more than happy to help.

Well, I did it … one whole day without shopping for my house. An entire dy without a trip to Home Depot, Target or any other store filled with objects I need for my new house.

Lunch with Joyce … sure. Chatting with Amy after her shopping trip … great. One more &^%$ bag filled with bathmats … not today.

This weekend was a moving experience (pun intended). Many friends who owed me (or whom I now owe) favors came to help upgrade from House to HouseXP.

Thus was the need for the Great Coffee Mug Intervention.

No, I’m not talking about my house … although the house is almost done and I am happy about that. John helped finish the security system & whole-house vac system last night.

I am talking about Friends … bye bye, so long, thanks for nothing. Begone you silly people with your impossibly huge New York apartment.

While the rest of the world watches the final episode, I’ll be hanging out with my wife & one of my real friends. We’ll talk, perhaps watch a DVD & put stuff into boxes to prepare for Saturday’s Crazy Brian’s Home Clearance Event (dryers, washers, furniture, everything must go … across the yard).
