From our snow day … my house in winter.
From Saturday … siding on the East side & back porch.
So I didn’t buy milk & bread … don’t blame the snow on me. It looks like the weather-folk were wrong, it snowed a bit further south than they planned.

Last week was looking good in the life of Suzan Richardson, but so far this week is not being nice to my wife.

A lot of magic happened to my house since I was at IDF. After the workers left Saturday, I think we are officially at the construction stage known as “dry” … the roof & siding are complete. My windows & doors are installed (except for one basement window still on order), most of the rough-in plumbing is done, and my ductwork is coming along nicely.
It’s really starting to sink in now … Suzan and I are upgrading to a real house.
Wow, is it time for IDF already? Brian’s back in SFO for another week of Intel, Intel, Intel. Stories & such to follow … I have a lot of time today, since the freight for the company booth hasn’t made it off the dock.
Turns out when I say I have too much house, I’m not kidding. Some confusion between the framing crew and the builder have produced a few extra square feet of covered screen porch. Too bad the porch isn’t that big on the plan.
When I called my builder to inform him of the extra wood, he said “Perhaps I should take a look at that” in a fairly unamused voice (Rick Wages is a great guy, so I don’t think he actually ever gets mad … just less amused than normal).
Monday was Day #2 of framing at HouseXP. I am now realizing how big the damn thing will be. It’s a lot taller than it looks on the blueprints.
