I am happy to report that our first expatriate Thanksgiving went over very well. Suzan and I made turkey for our friends Thomas, Danielle, Aaron, Joyce, Jeff and Amy. Suzan and I have done Thanksgiving alone before, but never with non-family guests. I think I can say that a good time was had by all.

No, you silly gutter-diving freaks … not that! I got a new monitor. It’s very nice … but I think it just became my Christmas present.
To all geeks in the Atlanta area … here’s a way to get some cheap computer hardware and help a worthy non-profit organization.

Suzan gets Veterans’ Day off … so I took the day off, too. It was supposed to be a day to relax, run some errands, and do things that aren’t “work”.
Now that’s changed. Suzan has an on-line friend who took her horse to the UGA Animal Hospital in Athens last night for emergency care. The horse had to be put down about an hour ago, so now our plan is to go to Athens and console Suzan’s friend.

Kudos to the folks at American Express for catching those fradulent charges on my credit card. Somebody bought dinner in Decatur with my credit card on Monday … too bad I wasn’t in Decatur that night, and I had dinner at home. There’s also a few times I filled up for gas twice in one day, which is a neat trick since I own a car that gets 34 MPG.
So my favorite credit card is in pieces while I wait on a replacement. I hope the folks at AMEX do a number on the prick who cloned my credit card.
I’ve had this feeling for a while, lurking in the back of my brain like a personal injury lawyer standing outside of an improperly assembled tilt-a-whirl ride at a carnival. The more I read about it, the more I dwell on it, the more it concerns me …
… I’m pretty sure the Wachowski brothers are going to turn the Matrix franchise into the next Highlander, making fans of the original movie walk around pretending the next two movies did not exist.
As a geek, it’s a bad, bad feeling to have.
That’s all I have to say about that.
