Domestic Entropy
When did my life become a country song?
My wife and I spent our anniversary shopping for a water heater, struggling to remove the existing heater which had flooded it’s compartment on the back of our modular home, cutting away drywall that impeded the installation of the newer & taller appliance, seeking help from a heftire neighbor to lift said appliance into the raised opening, and finally conquering the evils of leaking water heaters.
All that and my dog ran away. Maxine managed to snap her chain sometime in the early morning. My dog is roaming Loganville, dragging at least three feet of steel cable behind her.
All I need is a visit from my mother-in-law or a tornado to make this a Top 10 country music hit.
As for the suggestions from friends that I look into the “tankless” water heater system, I’d rather do that on a newer house where I have better control over the plumbing & wiring … plus they’re more expensive than the traditional tank heater.
But I will definitely talk to my builder about it … definitely. First I must use my new source of warm water to soak my foot. Remember that bruised toe I’m supposed to be reating? Yes, it hates me now (stupid soft tissue injuries).

/me wonders if county music is like country music, only more hillbilly?
No no no – you have to have some sort of romantic disaster in there for the country song. And an arrest or jail or something. (Oh, wait – have you heard Mike Rayburn?)
Maxine! I hope you find her.
And we know how you feel about appliance replacement. We just replaced our fridge, and we have a list of other things to replace soon. *sigh* At least you have hot water now.
Will I get shot if I say that it’s more of a regional thing?
Ok, going to crawl off until I can come up with an ACTUAL retort.
