Happy First Day of Summer.
Well, at least it was happy until I discovered my water heater sitting in a pool of water at 8:00PM. The bottom has rusted out, which would explain some of the water damaged flooring in my bathroom. The water heater sits in a compartment which opens from the back of the house, which means a leak can go unnoticed for months.
Of course the previous owner didn’t bother to install a drip pan. Foo. The breakers to the water heater are off until I can get it replaced.
Modular homes (i.e. “manufactured housing”, the evolutionary missing link between trailers and real homes) take funny sized water heaters. The guy at Home Depot is supposed to call me back to tell me what’s in stock.
Sunday is my 7th wedding anniversary. I guess I know what I’m getting Suzan for a present.
Gee honey, that 28 gallon tank really accents your eyes …
just as a thought, you may want to look into the ‘instant’ water heaters they have out there, you could move it into the new house when you get that far. they basically have no tank, and heat the water on demand, much more efficient. that is what kat and I are looking into.
