We decided to throw a party together at the last minute. Alice is in the den watching Monsters, Inc., Suzan is reading the rules to Illumaniti, and Aaron and Joy are on the way with a friend of unspecified origin.

I found this web snafu thanks to Google News … the article titled Report: China shutters one in three Internet cafes had a picture of Patrick Ewing next to it.
“Gee”, I wondered, “what does a large black man have to do with China’s internet censorship?”
So I followed the link to ABC News. The article is about China’s national firewall, and does properly credit the photo as Patrick Ewing, but doesn’t explain the relationship.
Sorry for the lack of recent updates, but Suzan and I just got back into town. We’ve taken Christmas on the road this year, and are finally back home after much driving.
My holiday updates didn’t get written because my laptop went insane. What little writing I have done is trapped inside of my messed up Toshiba. I think demons have possessed my poor laptop. It randomly types for me (even when I don’t touch the keyboard). The most annoying problem is that the CAPS LOCK key gets stuck and won’t switch off (AOL user syndrome).
I’ll try the holy water tomorrow.
Suzan and are at home now, enjoying some time off. I might use this time to create new entries or look over some long neglected video footage. Or perhaps I will just be lazy.
Either way, I don’t have to go to work till Monday.
Suzan and I are midway through our Christmas vacation. However, our colds have not taken anytime off. We are sharing the wonders of a very nasty, very prolonged and very pervasive illness. It doesn’t knock us flat, it lingers within us. This creeping crud has claimed Suzan’s voice and is trying to make my glands swell to the size of limes.

I typically go to work when it’s light and leave after dark. Today happened in reverse.
My red eye flight got in from Vegas at 5:18AM. I went to work for a few hours, left for a doctor’s appointment and am now home. Some verbage related to my adventures in Oragne County will follow.
Now I must nap.

It really hasn’t been my day, and it’s not even lunchtime yet. Actually, it hasn’t been my day for several days … but why start now.
