But I have to post a link to what I saw on Conan O’Brien the other day … Jesus Sports Statues.
I was watching the {{link http://www.comedycentral.com/tv_shows/conan/ Conan repeat on Comedy Central}} and saw his “{{link http://www.nbc.com/nbc/Late_Night_with_Conan_O’Brien/actualitems/index.shtml Actual Items}}” segment. Various Christian supply catalogs sell these motivational statues for kids, showing Jesus playing their favorite sports ({{link http://www.catholicsupply.com/christmas/_borders/34416.jpg baseball}}, {{link http://www.catholicsupply.com/christmas/_borders/34428.jpg football}}, {{link http://www.catholicsupply.com/christmas/_borders/34427.jpg soccer}}, etc.).
My favorite is the {{link http://www.catholicsupply.com/christmas/_borders/34403.JPG Jesus Martial Arts Statue}} … why is the Prince of Peace advocating organized forms of violence?
I’m not quite sure how this compares to {{link http://www.mcphee.com/enlightenment/current/10354.html Nunzilla}}, but it’s still funny.

This is worse than the Prayer of Jabez bullshit. -sigh-
So the real question is what happens to the people that "take out" Jesus in these sports? I mean, do you really think that you’re getting in to heaven if you stuff Jesus for a loss and come up doing a victory dance? (see the football pic)
Also, how much fun would it be to play a sport with/against Jesus. You know one of two things…
he’s gonna win
OR
he’s gonna let you win because its a part of God’s plan
Either way, it would take some of the fun out of the competition.
(and yes, I know that I may indeed be destined for the DEEP south for this comment)

The best part … most of these Jesus figures look just like the Buddy Christ from Dogma.
