A few weeks ago, I complained that my site stats were a bit skewed, since most people ended up at my site based on search terms like Lynnard Skynnard.
I had hoped that this trend would change … I must be more specific what I wish for …
I checked my mid-August site stats, and they have skewed. search.divx.com is now the top referrer, which means that video fu is becoming more popular. But exactly what is being downloaded and how is a bit disturbing.
“hot_animal_sex_divx.avi” has been downloaded 1,239 times so far in August. However, the parent page has only been viewed 285 times. This means most people are coming to the video as a direct link, probably from the divx.com search engine. This means the download is a result based on search terms … probably on the filename.
Note how I am bothered by the fact that people are actually searching for that combination of words …
Note that I am humored by their confusion when they find that my little video isn’t exactly what they had in mind …
