I decided to visit whatsbetter.com to check out their cool rating system. However this website made me face the hardest choice of all (god-vs-beer). I think I’ll recuse myself from this judgement.
It’s obvious this website hates me.
My wife decided to take control of the remote after dinner. What does she find … a Travel Channel special about the world’s best bathrooms.
There’s only a certain amount of quality TV in the world. The more channels add, the more you make TV in general suck.
Okay, Suzan and I skipped karate class last night to see Attack of the Clones. I was impressed … mostly. As per my style, I have a list of my issues with the movie.

Okay, I may have to turn my geek union card. I haven’t made it to see Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones yet. I was tempted to go Thursday, but I decided to go to work (that turned out to be a mistake). I had company coming into town Friday evening, and Saturday evening was spent in post-DragonCon meeting mode. Sunday morning was comprised of sleeping in while Suzan attended a horse show. Sunday evening was spent finishing another addition to the barn.
Perhaps I’ll go this week. I didn’t mind skipping opening weekend … the last thing I needed was to stand in line with an army of fans to see an army of clones. Despite Lucas’ inability to write dialog, it has to be better than the X-Files finale.
Okay, I’m really pissed now! First the shipping monkeys screw up my laptop repair shipment, then I read FoxNews. I play for years in college bands, and end up quitting the business because we couldn’t get exposure. Now this soon-to-be-felon gets his music posted on the internet?

Remember the death of my laptop? Regular siliconchef.com readers would remember this from Monday’s entry. Toshiba was nice enough to send my return shipping carton (it was waiting for me Tuesday morning). Their support is pretty darn good. I was promised express shipping with a 36 hour turnaround time. I boxed up the laptop, filled out the paperwork, and left it for the afternoon pickup.
This system works great, assuming the express shipping company “has properly organized their feces” (translation: has their shit together). In my case, they do not.
On my way out to lunch today, I passed the shipping department. Rosa, our shipping manager, yelled at me. I went into the shipping area to find my laptop on the dock. I know that my notebook could not have been to Memphis, repaired and returned in under 24 hours. Opening the box revealed that the notebook was still in it’s original condition (i.e. not fixed) with the original paperwork still in place (i.e. no note from Toshiba confirming the repair).
It seems that the shipping monkeys at a certain air freight company got the whole TO/FROM thing confused. They picked up the laptop in the morning and promptly brought it back that afternoon (morons). That’s another day I’m without my portable creation station.
